Considering I put CJ out there on a bike that made less power than my lawnmower he did awesome. First race made me very mad not at CJ but the bike. We were really down on power not being able to get the motor the way we wanted it. You could tell he was pouring the coals to it every lap but just couldn't get in the fight. Two things occurred to me. 1. My puppy was being kicked and I could do nothing about it 2. That
ain't happening again.
Race two he did some battle and was a much more exciting race for him. Rain is the great equalizer as many bikes that were in front of him were in his rearview in the wet. Next time you have a rainy trackway get out in it. I worked for another guy that used to pray for rain because he knew he could ride in it better than others. Won many a race in crap weather.
We have some work to do but when you have a smooth consistent rider that has CJ skill and race craft you can go far if some dip
Crew Chief ( that'd be me) puts him on a competitive bike.
We are going to be busting our asses to do just that by VIR. Many a late night ahead.
CJ great job this weekend. I saw a lot of guys kicking dirt and bitching about the wet conditions. We made some jokes about it but when it was time to rock you rolled.
Again great work brother.
