Vortex v3 gas cap + Yamaha r6?

Going keyless on my trackbike.  This guy says you need to cut up the stock gasket when installing the vortex gas cap.

I'm wondering if anybody else has this setup and if so... is this really needed?  Do all keyless gas caps for an r6 require this as well?

 Not from my experience.
 I've the V3 on my 08+ R6 ; remove stock, install V3 . the end.
 (Crash tested,too - No leak ; YMMV)
