09-14 R1 frame sliders Yes/No for the track?
« on: October 31, 2014, 05:57:14 PM »

So I picked up an '09 R1 and have been scratching my head regarding the use of frame sliders with this bike. I've seen my buddy total his bike due to the slider catching on the rumble strip.....

Anyone wanna hazard an opinion ?

The no cuts can sometimes cause damage because the torque the frame...the cut style are safer and what I run. Short woodcraft. They won't save the plastics but that's not what they are for

Like you I've heard the good and bad. I run them because when my bike falls over in the pit, it minimizes the damage. I had a big highside this year. The frame slider was really the only thing I had to replace. I'd say it did it's job pretty well.

It's players choice. Gould is a fan I personally think odds are they do more damage than they save you from. 6 of one half dozen of the other.

When you have as much crash experience as I have you get a feel for these things, lol. I think they generally help and I have them on my bikes.
