05 GSXR 750 trackbike stolen Winston Salem
« on: July 24, 2014, 10:27:10 AM »

cross posting from NC Sportbikes:

So, my regular track buddy and fellow PRE member Daryl had his 750 stolen from his garage last week. A former NCS'r Doug used to own/track it and Meanstreak painted it. Anyway, keep your eyes peeled and as a heads up, this came from a bogus Craigslist buyer that was coming to pick up his RC51...he just neglected to mention he wasn't paying. It was a bill of sale bike with no insurance so he's pretty much eating this one. Thanks for looking and please cross post.

05 GSX-R 750
VIN# JS1GR7JA352103889
    Penske triple
    Full Yosh system
    PCIII
    GP shift QS
    Ohlins steering stabilizer
Re-valved front forks that no one can remember who (anyone make out the sticker from the pic?)
    Vortex sprockets
    New EBC HH pads
    I believe CRG folding levers
Dunlop slicks... kind of unique since they were AMA scuffs. one side soft/one side med. rear with a UK soft front.
Left side swing arm spool was drilled and had a nut on the back from stripping out in a low side, it was always lopsided.
Tank and seat set up with quick release pins.

Hate seeing stuff like this :nada:. Hope you can find it before it's parted out. Good luck.

I'm in High Point, NC  and will keep an eye out. I cannot stand a thief! How did they steal it?

Ironically, he was selling his RC51 on Craigslist to pull together the cash to get a newer track bike. A guy working off of a an apparently disposable cell went back and forth with him for a while. When it came time to get the address and pick it up, the guy never showed. They came back that night to steal the Honda from his garage and found a track bike with keys in it blocking their path...they grabbed that and his helmets instead.

Low-life scumbags. I'll keep an eye out for parts and anything that seem to fit the MO. I'm over in the Greensboro area.

I try not to use CL, but when I do, I always arrange a meeting at a public place, (a huge p.i.t.a.) but no one will ever know what I have in my "stable".

Best of luck in finding these dirtbags

That blows  :banghead:,  If I see something up near the Raleigh area, I'll give a shout out.
