Non Track Time
« on: April 08, 2020, 08:12:55 PM »

How are you guys holding up during all of this?   Me personally, i go tp the garage at least  3 times a day and rub my track bike in odd ways.  This virus shit needs to go the hell on so i can continue holding up the faster riders in I group.

Baby jesus please kill this virus so i can get back to making awesome instagram track day photos.  I vote that track days are essential.  essential for mental health!!!!

i ride on the street as often as life allows, but with a lot more respect than a couple years ago.    I wanna go fast, or what i consider fast and i just cant get into the mindset to do it on the street anymore.

:agree:  Curvy country backroads are a poor substitute once you've experienced a true race track.  However, they do keep the edge off if approached properly.  I know it's basically sacrilege to say this on here but, this is where Harley's and other "cruiser" bikes come into play.  Sport bikes IMHO don't belong on the street.  At least not if I'm riding it.  There might be a small percentage of folks that can stay within the law on one but I'm not one of them.

Track time is the only way I can get the speed rush out of my system. When I don't get it, I start riding like a hooligan on the streets. When I do get some track time, I'm calm and ride like an old man on the streets again.

I have a dual-sport that I can take to the woods and do hooligan things, but those places are all closed, too. Hard to believe that the woods are closed! I can't get any more distant than that!

yeap, i gravitate towards my harley when i go into the garage.   My zx10 goes from zero to graveyard quickly.  my harley gives plenty of warning before it gets too fast lol

I have moved to an Adventure Bike for the street. Must say it’s a pretty good way to roll if the street is all you have. You can’t go but so fast which keeps you out of trouble. But riding on big wheels with skinny tires helps give you a sense of being near the limit, which keeps it entertaining. Plus it’s cool to be able cruise into unpaved areas.

Dan we have a BMW 1200 adventure rider that would come with on every trip. The dude flat out smoked the field. Nothing cooler than seeing boxer valve covers showering sparks.

Didn't know that... Carolina Adventure World was closed and I assumed the others were as well. It sounds like some dirty riding is in order. I have a CRF250L that's a little too clean right now!
