What age are we?
« on: February 25, 2020, 12:48:28 PM »

I'm just curious.  I'm pretty confident that I am one of the older riders at 58.  Just trying to decide after my crash at CMP: Am I just getting to old to play like this and should begin considering less dangerous activities.

52 in May. Only as old as you feel. I got into this sport at the insistence of a buddy that at the time was 72 that was in 2005. If Condor was still round he would likely still be faster than most.

I'm 51.  There are plenty of older people in the sport.  You have to weigh the risk vs reward.  Not sure what I would replace it with

I'll be 62 in May.  I'm still running Barber every chance I get.  Heading to Laguna Seca in June.  Planning to do the Ducati Riding Experience at Mugello next year.  There might not be any money when I'm gone but there's gonna be plenty of cool toys.

I’m 52! and Pawpaw, YOU WILL NEVER GET ME ON A HORSE! Nothing is more dangerous than a horse!  A snake is a snake, but a horse is unpredictable!

Hey Brother,

Only YOU and your FAMILY can make that decision. Sure, this sport has risks, but PRE is the safest org. I have ever ridden with. Many tools and procedures are in place to minimize the risk. From motorcycle tech inspection to selection of the correct group you ride in, to the correct size helmet and boots you wear, to the air fence that has been added at various venues and ambulances at the track. These are all items that reduce the risk...

In November of last year, I had a friend that passed away at the gym doing a spin class. He was 47 and in great shape.  So, live life,  be cool and never have any regrets! Just make sure you are insured and leave something to your loved ones besides debt!

As GDFTHR said everyone at PRE does a lot to help reduce the risk as much as possible and to have things in place if it all goes wrong. While not every other organization may agree with all of these safety precautions we have in place it's one of the many reasons I'm proud to be a member of PRE!

Oh yeah - and 52 going on 22 here!

43 in September.  Age is just a number... until it isn't.

54 in April for me.  Still making PBs every year:). Not so hard when you start slow.

I sometimes wonder the same thing, especially after a fall.

But, track riding motivates me to stay fit and gives me something to look forward to every year.

Love my PRE friends as well!
