Hey All:  Do you guys put out air fence at NCBIKE?  Do you need help putting it out Friday afternoon?  Any chance of a track walk at NCBIKE?  Never ridden there before.

Also, I’ll be having a couple friends join us Sunday.  They are both new to the track and I would like to get them started in the right way.  Would it be possible to get them a tow for a session or 2? I already told them they need to attend the classroom sessions.  They are both experienced riders and I think will be a good fit for PRE.  Thanks, best wishes, John.

The Airefence at NC Bike is handled by the track so we don't have to actually do any work at NC Bike. Many of the Airfence sections at NC bike have been donated by PRE and our generous donors. The track is accessible to walk or bicycle in the evenings but there isn't a formal track walk planned. We'll definitely get your friends paired up with a CR in the morning so they can find their way around. NC Bike is pretty easy to learn so it shouldn't take long.

Thanks John.  I’m excited to try a new track.  My buddies are excited as well.

If your friends want a slightly slower introduction to the track, in the past couple of seasons in Novice group one or two of the CR's have gridded up way back and more off to the side (so kinda off grid a bit) to gather riders who want a slightly slower-paced familiarization tow (they often call it the duck walk), and they have typically stayed grouped up like that for the full sessions. Your friends might ask about that.
Otherwise, the CR's that go out with the right-side line are typically leading reasonably-paced first two laps of the first session or two; if you think that's more appropriate, just grid up in the normal right-side line (maybe toward the rear a bit).

Hope everyone has fun!

Also, since nobody else has mentioned it, I believe the first two laps of at least the first session, maybe even the second, for the Novice group are yellow flag no passing sighting-in laps.

That is correct. The first session of each day will start under yellow flag for all groups. This will last for two laps from the first rider out.

In addition to getting up to speed, this is a great time to make note of all the corner worker stations so you know where the flags will be displayed.

Mr. Ruhe:  It sounds like you had a less than ideal day.  I just want to offer a sincere thank you for being there and all you have done for the rest of us and the organization.  Best wishes and looking forward to seeing you next month on other portions of the track.

Awesome weekend, everyone!
Met lots of new people and got to connect more with others I already knew.

Big thanks to all the PRE staff for the great tows, excellent traffic management, further advice and reminders on how to do this while being safe, and motivation to go faster. Y’all rock!

I was expecting this track to be a great place to work on increasing lean angle, but after several sessions (in the middle of a session, actually), I realized how much time it gives you to practice being really light on the handlebars. That was great.

Looking forward to CMP!
