My new track toy
« on: January 04, 2019, 04:24:31 PM »

Decided to be done with street riding so I purchased this track only beauty from e-bay. It already has most of the goodies I think I could want. April cannot get here soon enough.

Best regards,
Byron

If all goes well, I will have her at NC Bike on the 20th of April. This will be my first official track day. Looking forward to meeting lots of new folks and enjoying a fun day of riding.

Nothing like getting a new bike and then having to wait months before you can ride it. :D

April will be here before you know it and in the meantime you'll have plenty of time to go over it and make sure everything is in good shape.

Indeed, I have been spending lots of time searching the forum for things to check, and ways to prepare my bike for the track. I have never owned a Triumph so it will be fun to learn the nuances of a triple cylinder bike.

OOooh - she's nice Byron! Best of luck with the new track toy and just wait until you feel the torque of the triple coming out of a slow speed turn and then wind her up to hear her howl!!

Looking forward to seeing this machine in person at the track soon!

Thanks Monkey Man,
Got the track bug last summer when I finally attended a 2 day California Superbike School. Not sure why I waited so long. Street riding for me is no longer quite as enjoyable so I figured I would get myself a dedicated track bike and become the best possible track rider that I can be. Looks like a great group to jump into track days with.

Best regards,
Byron

Yeah I bought some gold forks off a buddy (mine from the factory were black) and put carts in along with the gp shock that are dying to be put to the test... not positive but I believe only the 14 gsxr 750s came with gold forks so it gives it a different look that’s not seen as much on the gsxrs. I like it.

Well you know.. it is the superior brand.... kidding kidding I am happy to be approaching the finished product on this bike though from the dealership she was a street bike for 2 years then I was introduced into track days and never looked back. Just a few odds and ends and the rest is maintenance items. Not sure what’s better ripping around the track or the friendships and memories you make in the paddock. However I am ready for both

Welcome to PRE Byron! The same thing happened to me ... CSS, completely addicted to the track, sold street bike and thankfully found PRE which is simply the BEST place to be! Be certain to introduce yourself, April will be here in a blink  :D
