CCS 2019
« on: November 01, 2018, 05:46:06 AM »

I was told registration for ccs will be up today on their forums page, will be my first year racing and I don’t plan on doing the whole series just some rounds at vir for fun. I was told your first time racing is almost like your first track day, once you do a few you get it down but the first couple can be confusing. I know it’s quite a ways out but would be nice to know some seasoned vets or anyone that’s raced before to show me the ropes and give some pointers:D

It's intimidating going into your first race weekend not knowing what to expect. Other than that it's fine. Let me know what I can do to help

Thanks guys I’ll definitely be be in touch. I’ve read the rule book but didn’t see anything about one question I had, if you’ve seen the 2019 schedule June 8/9 at vir has ASRA beside of it instead of CCS, do you know if CCS will also be running or just ASRA? From what I took from the rule book ASRA is like the next step up and you have to have a AMA membership. Am I wrong about that or by them putting ASRA down does that mean it’s like a partnered event?

I'm sure I'll be at the VIR opener. You are welcome to hang with me that weekend.

Asra is national classes that race with ccs. First vir weekend is sprint races second vir weekend is the endurance race.  Yes you need an ama membership to race with asra. If looking for extra track time I would also race asra.  You will get another 20 min sesssion on sat which is qualifying for the asra race on Sunday.   Ccs races are gridded by when you sign up so it is cool to be  able to grid up by qualifying times.
