Been a while
« on: August 20, 2018, 11:21:33 AM »

Hey everyone.
I joined up a few years ago but have only ridden with PRE twice. First was the weekend of the first Air Fence fund at VIR south, I crashed LOL.
Next was a Road Atlanta event (Soooooo much fun.)

Figured I would re-introduce myself.

Names Travis, nickname is Banky (pronounced Bank-E)

I currently am a Intermediate rider with N2 and STT.
Been to VIR south, Road Atlanta, Roebling Roads Raceway, NCBike, Grattan Raceway.
Got a racing cert from Wera a few years back but only raced twice.

I recently contacted PRE because I wanted to know how to become a Control Rider/Coach.
So before anyone gets negative, they talked to me about it, I know it will be a long time until I would even be considered. Gotta start somewhere right.

I purchased a 2013 R1 brand new and started modding it and eventually it became a Track only bike.

Swaped 2013 frame for a 2009 Welded Braced Frame (WSBK clone)
Ohlins 25mm Karts
Ohlins TTX rear
Ohlins manual Dampner
Attack GP tripples
SBU rear linkage
SBU adjustable Link Rod
SBU flashed ECU
Attack rear sets
Dynojet quickshifter
EvolTech Clipons
Evoltech Brake guard
WoodCraft Frame sliders and Case covers
GP ignition timing cover
Graves through frame lower frame slider
Woodcraft Keyless start relay
Speedcell 4cell lithium battery
Fren tubo brake lines
Versah Pads
Brembo RCS19
Carbonin Bodywork
Akrapovic Full TI evo exhuast
CSF full racing radiator
Michelin Slicks
Spare wheel set with Michelin Rains
Fast Franks Quick Change Front and Rear Axle
Fast Franks captive rear brake caliper and wheel spacers

I am having a motor built (TD motor not a race motor) by KWS is South Carolina, should go from around 160hp to 185hp.

I just wanted to throw all this on here to show that I LOVE my bike. No it is not the fastest bike, but I enjoy riding it and I gel with it, have not crashed or had any scary moments on it yet.
I am an enthusiast and putting all the blood sweat and tears into my bike is worth more than being a few seconds faster with a newer machine.

Hope to start riding more with you guys and meeting some of you.

Welcome back, Banky. We hope we see you out there a lot more.

I too aspired to be a Control Rider for many years...and PRE is probably the best place to be a CR, too! We are very selective so you can rest assured that if they have an orange shirt on they are a very skilled rider who is more than happy to assist anyone at anytime. The best thing you can do is to become a part of the PRE family by doing as many track days with us as possible. You will be noticed...I promise. Once we see that you are a regular rider with us, we get to know you, you make your way up through the ranks and you are already helping people even before you are a CR that's when you'd make it to the short list  ;)

Come say hello when you're out there and we'll help you reach that goal. Thanks!

It was a rendition from a quote in the movie young guns, also used later by Warren G in a song. The Song came on when I read your initial post. Felt like a remix...
The CRs do a great job of monitoring when one is ready for the next level.

Welcome Travis. I’ve ridden with other groups in the past and have found my home, my family, with PRE. Simply stated, PRE is THE best place to be!

Hey Banky,
Glad you're coming back out. The best and fastest way to get a bump is to grab a guy in an orange shirt and have them take a look at you the next session. Line up at the front of the left lane and give it a go! Get there early.  I get the "can you look at me request", tell them what I told you only to see them buried 20 deep in the line. It then becomes a challenge to track down and identify said rider.

When are you coming out again?

Hey peoples, I just went out to NCBike for the weekend of 8-10 and 8-11. Played around on saturday to get the dust off and then sunday I gave it the beans!

Taylor Wells was crazy enough to bump me to Advanced.

Currently running 1:36's on a timer and ran some 1:34's i think on camera (no timer, gotta stop watch it).

Bikes not getting out of shape or anything so it was a blast.

Had a killer time this weekend and as soon as I can get some new tires I hope to be back out with yall.  :tiphat:

Hey Travis - great meeting you this weekend and congrats on the A bump. No surprise there - you were definitely riding at pace at the end of Saturday when we rode together.

Glad you had a good weekend and looking forward to riding with the Trash Panda again at another PRE event soon.

Hopefully I was able to help your buddy (sorry, I forgot his name) a bit and he comes back out too!
