Brake pad question
« on: July 05, 2018, 05:13:11 PM »

So almost all pad manufacturers want you to clean rotors when installing new pads based on the new pads embedding their material.  So is it better not to clean the rotors if you are installing the same pads and the same material is already embedded?

I still scrub my rotors with scotch bright when I change my pads. I actually just scrubbed them for this upcoming event even though I didn’t change my pads. Not sure if it’s proper technique or not. Just what I’ve done

You do not have to nor is it recommended to scrub your rotors when replacing pads that are the same.

SBS Double Sintered instructions.

Cliff notes “install pads go ride”
On rotors that have been used even if different compound.

If installing on new rotors there is a easy and brief bed in procedure.
Great pads was very impressed
