Miscellaneous
« on: July 01, 2018, 08:00:51 PM »

If anyone has an extra race foam hump that they don't need, and would be willing to part with - would you please let me have it? (Need it for a resurrected jacket)
Let me know what you want for it. I'll be at the NNF ; SSN weekends.
Thanks in advance.

For the ones using an Arai Corsair "V" with the 'Max vision' (aka Max-brow) shields which are pinlock ready, I've a couple of brand new pinlock inserts. Arai shields are particular - different shield for the same helmet need different sized pinlock lenses.
Dark smoke and light smoke. There's not a lot of difference in the tint, tbh.
Typically, they run ~ 30/- each..
Bargain price: 15/- to the tip jar towards the AFF at the meet n greet, and you can have them both.
Arai used to make clear shields with tinted pinlocks. (with the current corsair X, they make tinted shields with clear pinlock lens.. the corsair X shields / pinlocks aren't interchangeable with the older model).

Shetty I think I can strip the hump out of my old street jacket which never gets used and come to think of it does not fit. Let me go through the gear pile and will confirm.

She was the one who converted the old crashed suit to the jacket as a project.
She didn't have one at hand. I'll ask Barnacle Bill hopefully he has one.
(I do have an old teknic kangaroo suit that I don't use. it's eminently usable and was hoping to hand it off to someone who can use it, as opposed to sacrifice it for a measly race hump)

Worst case go to hobby store block of closed cell foam. Cutting tool of choice. Mine is a Henkel med serrated for close work. Big cuts our bread knife is the go to. Of course when Diane finds our cutlery in the garage she sort of loses her shit but I understand she has things she needs to work through.

Yeah - I've had to retrieve Pam's hair dryer and serrated knife from the garage on occasion. I just keep telling her that's her contribution to the team. She's usually glad to help but once in a while....

Good luck on your quest Shetty - I have nothing to offer but slightly amusing stories
