Air Bag Vests
« on: June 23, 2018, 08:17:18 AM »

I have been shopping for a Hit-Air. Seems the info on the web is pretty sparse about the features of the different vests. I tried on a medium RS-1 that a member was selling but it was a little too tight. i was also concerned about having that big lump (canister and included protector) on my lower back. Even with my full back protector, it seems like it could do some spine damage. Is there any reason not to use the street version (MLV) on the track? is it just a matter of the different canister and tether location? Or does having the canister in the front present its own set of problems?

Thanks!

Unfortunately I do not have a good answer but I can say you should consider that the air bag will have deployed, effectively providing some cushion to where the canister is located. I also, wear a back protector with mine.

Plenty ppl wear the street version. It appears to offer lots of protection as well. I think either one would be great and additional support you don't currently have. Good luck.

If im not mistaken, the street version offers more coverage.  Just more bulky than the race version.

I run the street version.  I have not tested it yet in a crash.

I have tested it in drunken garage activities.
