Big Drama for Herrin and Attack Racing...
« on: April 13, 2018, 09:46:19 PM »

Don't know how many of you follow Herrin on Twitter and Instagram... but apparently the Attack Racing truck broke down somewhere in Louisiana on the way to the MotoAmerica opening round at Road Atlanta... so Herrin drove to his house, got his stock R1S, and the team is burning the midnight oil trying to get it prepped for practice tomorrow.

Apparently the officials have told him that if he can get within 107% of the fastest time then he can race.

I'll be hoping he pulls a miracle of sorts... but I'm betting he wads the thing trying to get a mostly stock R1S to keep pace for more than 3 or 4 laps.

Also... why couldn't the team rent another truck or a uhaul box van, toss a bike, as many tools and spare parts as they could fit and high-tail it to RA?  Surely 1 race prepped bike and some misc tools and a few spares has to be better than a mostly stock R1S...

Wish I could be there to see him pull this off. I root for everyone, pretty much. Didn’t like his moves last year on Elias, though. Rewatched that race last week. Wasn’t quite as bad as I remembered. He didn’t quite “torpedoquez” him, but it still didn’t seem too smart.

Agree completely. He certain gets aggressive at times which is why him and Eslick didn't get along back in the day.

Looks like they got a half-way decent bike put together.  Looks like a trackday bike!  I love that it still has the key lock on the tail.  LOL

Best of luck to him and everybody else racing today!

Sounds like a lot of Privateers threw in parts to make it happen. Group effort from the whole paddock which is awesome

^What Dan said - I don't know of another community that would've been so generous with parts and labor...especially to someone like Herrin who absolutely CAN challenge for race wins

Just finished watching the 2nd race.  He was up to 2nd for a few corners!   :wow:  It looked like a 4th place was possible but then he had a clutch issue and finished 6th.

Regardless, fantastic results for him considering his situation.  Well done Josh!

Also an amazing ride by that kid who had to run off in the mud to avoid a crash in the first turn.

Mat showed a great deal of control/discipline, pushing but not too much. Great ride. There are more wins in store.

First female took a podium in MotoAmerica this weekend. Jamie Astudillo

Was she one of the Ninja 400 riders at VIR on 4/2?

I was watching the Monster Energy Supercross race. They do a small package each week called #MakeUpToMud where they document a female racer. This week was Jamie Astudillo the female racer who took a podium at RA. They were showing video of her riding at VIR during the PRE track day in April. There was a good shot of Andrew Gold leading her through the esses.
