You could also find a good used R6 and we can close down cylinder 3 and run it reduced HP I believe Tryg WESTBY did this to run a lower displacement class some years ago.
Hmm that's not a bad idea! While we are thinking outside the box, could we just add another cylinder to the R3?
We both rode RS660s at South yesterday and wow! It's hard to imagine that a mid-sized twin could be any better than that. But man, $12K+suspension+bodywork (times two hehe) is a lot of money for bikes we're just going to crash anyway.
